How Rookonomy handles your information
Last updated 7 November 2026
Rookonomy is a finance blog written by one person, Mahalaxmi RV, based in Sydney, Australia. This page explains in plain English what the site collects, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
Your email address, only if you subscribe. Subscribing is optional. Your email is stored by Beehiiv, the service that sends the Rookonomy emails, along with basic details such as when you signed up.
What you type into Ask Rook. Your question is sent to an AI service so Rook can answer it. Ask Rook doesn’t ask for your name or email, so please don’t type personal or sensitive information into it.
Basic technical information, such as your browser, device and the pages you visit. This is collected by the services that run the site, to keep it working and to see what people read.
How we use it
To send the emails you asked for, to answer your Ask Rook questions, and to keep the site secure and improve it. We don’t sell your information.
Who else handles it
A few service providers process information on Rookonomy’s behalf: Beehiiv for email, Framer for hosting, Cloudflare for the Ask Rook server, and Anthropic for the AI answers. Some of them are based outside Australia, including in the United States. Each has its own privacy policy.
Emails and unsubscribing
Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you’re off the list. You can also reply to any Rookonomy email and ask to be removed.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Reply to any Rookonomy email and we’ll sort it out, normally within 30 days.
Cookies
The site and the services behind it may use cookies or similar technology. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the site should still work.
Changes
If this page changes in a meaningful way, the date at the top will change too.
