The Road From Curiosity to Rookonomy

The Journey

Hi, I’m Maha, the voice behind Rookonomy. I’m a finance enthusiast, startup explorer, and a curious learner who believes that business and money don’t have to be intimidating—they can actually be fun, relatable, and even a little quirky.

My journey with finance began early on. I studied Entrepreneurship in school, which gave me a strong foundation in both analytical thinking and creative problem-solving. Later, I pursued a BBA in Finance, and now I’m continuing my academic path with a Master of Finance. Along the way, I realized how much I enjoy analyzing companies, decoding financial statements, and uncovering the stories behind startups.

Rookonomy was born out of a gap I noticed in the world of finance blogs. Most of them either feel too academic and textbook-like—putting readers to sleep—or they skip over the details that actually matter to beginners. I wanted to create something different: a space where finance is broken down into rookie-friendly guides, startups are studied in detail through engaging case studies, and readers can learn without feeling overwhelmed.

Outside of the blog, I’m usually still surrounded by ideas. You’ll often find me exploring startup case studies over coffee, sketching out concepts for my next side-hustle, or binge-watching business documentaries (yes, I really enjoy them). It’s this blend of curiosity and passion that fuels the content I create here.

Through Rookonomy, my mission is simple: to make finance and startups accessible and engaging for everyone, whether you’re a rookie just starting out or someone already familiar with the field. I hope this blog becomes more than just a collection of articles—I want it to grow into a community where people can learn, debate, and share ideas together.

So, welcome to Rookonomy! I’m glad you’re here. Stick around, explore the posts, and if you’d like, join my newsletter to get bite-sized finance and startup insights straight to your inbox.
